These are very frightening times

It is almost unbelievable that the Republicans are being listened to with a staight face.

If they weren't so scary - they could become the newest comedy team in the USA.

One of the jokes that is being presented is a woman from Alaska.  Here is what other republican woman think of her.   Note as you read through these comments that they are all republic women of a variety of ages and a mixture of experience.  I thank each or the writers for their candor.  The readers will be awe struck with the caliber and reputation of he women who write in and by what they write.  "Senior Republican Senator Chuck Hagel has voiced doubts about Sarah Palin's qualifications for the vice-presidency" says BBC news.

There have been many forewarnings of the dangers - but witness, if you will the Minnesota stomping on Civil Rights. It is in fact, no joke but an extremely dangerous trend by sociopaths and misguided politicians.

You weren't expecting to get the straight story from this bunch were you?  Look at these 20 lies. Or take a look at what factcheck says.  Among other things in The unbearable lightness of Republican hypocrisy comes the line: "She is also a liar. Or, alternatively, her acceptance speech was a concatenation of lies."  The evidence piles up.  It does appear that part of the comedy is the divergence from fact.  Ready for more?  This Wall Street Journal headline:  Palin's Project List Totals $453 Million. demonstrates once again that we can not believe her.  From the article "During an appearance Friday on ABC's "The View," Sen. McCain said Gov. Palin shared his views, and hasn't sought congressional earmarks. "Not as governor she hasn't," he said."  "In fact, in the current fiscal year, she is seeking $197 million for 31 projects, the records show" it continues.  Lies on top of lies.  They build their wall of lies in the hopes that they can climb above us all and rule the country.

NOW ... The Media Call McCain and Palin on Their Trail of Lies.  "The McCain campaign has spent the last couple weeks making claims and accusations of dubious accuracy, mocking independent fact checkers, and telling everyone who will listen that the "media filter" doesn't matter."  "The Boston Globe has a story reporting that Sarah Palin's claim to have visited Iraq last year was false -- she only got to a Kuwait/Iraq border station on a trip to meet Alaska guard troops. Previously, she acknowledged that her visit to Ireland had involved changing planes."  "St. Petersburg Times (Editorial) "Campaign of lies disgraces McCain" McCain's straight talk has become a toxic mix of lies and double-speak. It is leaving a permanent stain on his reputation for integrity, and it is a short-term strategy that eventually will backfire with the very types of independent-thinking voters that were so attracted to him.LINK"  And from my home city: "Kansas City Star (Barb Shelly) McCain stoops to deception, distortion: Maybe you've seen it. The campaign ad cites the authoritative journal Education Week to claim that Democrat Barack Obama has been missing in action on education reformShamelessly misleading the public? These are old tricks we've been seeing in local elections for years. Distort. Twist. Deceive. Damage. And the winning candidate drags a load of public contempt into office. I had hoped for better from McCainJohn McCain may win the presidency this way, but he will lose the respect he has acquired over the years. LINK".  All the quotes in the paragraph are from The Media Call McCain and Palin on Their Trail of Lies.

If you are not bothered by those lies - think about this.  McCains Health.  "John McCain has not yet released his medical records to the public. McCain is 72 years old, and has been diagnosed with invasive melanoma."  Listen to the video and read the danger we are in of having a short-termed President.  Plus 12 other videos such as McCain's Million Dollar Parking lot and John McCain vs John McCain. This one could be a stand alone comedy routine or it could be thrown in with the 20 lies.  However you look at it, it is Comedy Up Front and In Your Face.  You have been suckered in.  SO, what kind of president would she beFrom CBS comes this article, McCain Still Struggling With The Basics.  From LA Progressive, Alaskans Speak (In A Frightened Whisper): Palin Is “Racist, Sexist, Vindictive, And Mean”, and the follow-up Sarah Palin and Me  September 6, 2008 by Charley James.  From Eugene Robinson and the Washington Post more about her lies and coverups.

It is hoped that America will wake up - that the Democrats will stand up - and McCain will be buried in his wall of lies or perhaps by a bridge (of lies) to nowhere.  Or burried with Palin's brand of saving money. According to the article:

The sports complex that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's supporters call her most visible legacy as mayor of her hometown left the town paying inflated prices for the land and huge legal bills, according to court records.

There was a lot of legal back and forth as the article describes, but a short summary is "The city originally paid $145,000 for part of the land. The rest of it was valued at about $21,000....It ended up paying more than $1.5 million, not counting its own legal fees.  WOW!, If she can do this with such a small budget, think what her experience can do building debt with America's budget.  Is she in a race with Bushed?

Well McCain must have done well in school at least, didn't he?  According to http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/19/cafferty-wall-street-journal-blasts-john-mccain/

When you graduate 894th out of a class of 899, eventually it will show up.

And John McCain's mediocre performance at the Naval Academy is showing up big time this week in his total lack of understanding of the nation's financial crisis.

He told us he didn't know much about the economy… now he's proving it.

When you observe his poor executive decission making power as shown in his Vice Presidantal Candidate you must ask:  "Is it basic intelligence, or illness and thought disorder for long incarceration, or just poor decision making ability?"  Witness the breadth of this inability:

He chose the wrong scapegoat," said James Cox, a professor of corporate and securities law at Duke University who is not related to the SEC chairman.

"It shows a profound ignorance of something (McCain) ought to know about being in Washington, and that is the limited regulatory authority of the SEC."

ABC Panel Tears Into McCain: Not Presidential, Age Should Be An Issue again from Sam Stein of the Huffington Post.  There is a very good video with this article.  And, George F. Wills in a Washington Post article McCain Loses His Head. says

"Under the pressure of the financial crisis, one presidential candidate is behaving like a flustered rookie playing in a league too high. It is not Barack Obama."

Yes - enough to worry about.  BUT we are told in the Washington Post  that John Harris, the Republican speaker of the Alaska House, said he had never been called by the spouse of a governor before the two calls he got from Todd Palin. One was to argue for moving the state capital to Anchorage. The other was to ask Harris to "keep an eye" on a key aide who had an affair with the wife of one of Todd's best friends. In the same article this testament to the arrogant small minded tactics of these individuals is reported:

Last week, the McCain campaign said Todd Palin would refuse to comply with a subpoena to testify in the investigation.

He did step in when KTUU-TV, the dominant broadcast station in Alaska, aired a segment describing the many personnel complaints the Palins had brought against Wooten. Todd Palin called to complain. The segment's producer, John Herbst, later resigned after he was reprimanded for failing to treat elected officials with "respect."

The Huffington Post adds more to the story.

Networks Revolt Against Reporter-Blocking Palin UN Meeting  The Huffington Post,  "The McCain campaign gave in and agreed to let a CNN producer into the UN meetings.

ABC News reports that all of the networks are objecting to the John McCain campaign's attempt to get photographs of Sarah Palin at the U.N., but no news coverage..."  WELL THAT MAKES SENSE - THEY ARE ASHAMED OF HER.

AND NOW - Freddie Mac paid firm of McCain aide (did he know?).
