I was taking the pictures, so I do not show up in these. But my plate shows up in one. Don't worry, I had plenty to eat that night, and will keep my weight up. See - there is my plate now. Between Prakash and Gary. Suneeta is adding to her meal from the relish tray Pamela had prepared. The gang at the added table, as we all did, have selected their food from the counter dividing the kitchen from the other rooms, and are talking back and forth. Except - that Lia must have gone back for seconds already, and Danny is off to the left of the picture. Yes, here he is - my long haired grandson. He has developed an ear for music in the last year or so - more of an ear than I knew he had. One of the areas he is studying in school this year is keyboard, and he has sat down to play a bit while we eat. Dan is a vegetarian, so the ham is of no interest to him, but the dishes from Suneeta, who along with Tanmay, is also a vegetarian, is of great interest to him. Dan has also lost a lot of weight in the last couple of years by not eating sweets and sugar-laced foods. So, unfortunately, he does not eat my cake, or the ham - but can eat the macaroni salad that Martha prepared. Tanmay's father - a man of great courage in my opinion - left India to seek a better circumstance for his family. At that time his immediate family consisted of a beautiful wife and infant son. He and I met at work (computer programming) and became friends. Poor Tanmay was very ill at this early age and spent much time in hospitals in India. And Prakash had to worry about and Suneeta had to tend to this now strapping young man. Prakash was able to get them here while Tanmay was still small enough for me to carry around in my arms. We were given the treat of being able to care for him sometimes during his early years. Tanmay - as do all those in the Prakash family - holds a special place in our hearts. |
